Length
equals:
The measurement
from the tips of the fingers or heel
- to the top of the cast or prosthetic
sleeve plus 1.5 inches (4 cm).
This is where
the opening of the Xerosox will sit on
the skin. Make sure this is a smooth
area. (Go higher if necessary to have
a smooth area.)
Circumference
equals:
The measurement
around the arm or leg at the point that
is 1.5 inches (4cm) above the top of
the cast or prosthetic sleeve - This
is ON THE SKIN AREA. Please be precise.
Choose a Xerosox that is at least 1.5" (4cm) longer than your cast or bandage length and the leg or arm circumference is at least 1.5" (4cm) larger than the opening of the Xerosox you choose.
It doesn't matter
if it's longer; you can roll down or
fold the excess XeroSox in the middle
of your arm or leg, and then pump the
air out. It will still provide a good
seal if the product is folded or rolled.
*Note
the half arms and half legs are
not normaly used for children.
Pediatric patients almost always
use full arm or leg covers. |
